The Ugliest Vase in the World
Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce : “The Ugliest Vase in the World”!
You have before you a true masterpiece of Ugliness :
This organic vase (very rare by the way) seems to come straight out of a science fiction universe, it's a creation from the beginning of the last century around 1902 and coming from the Sarreguemines earthenware factory.
The alcoholic designer was probably drunk when he designed this piece.
And the potter was probably blindfolded as he stood at his turnstile to make it.
This vase is so ugly that even flowers refuse to bloom in it.
If ever by some miracle, you managed to place flowers in it, they would shout: "No way, I'm not putting a root in there!"
This vase is so ugly that it managed to scare away burglars who dared to enter in my house. There is nothing more deterrent than this hideous vase proudly enthroned in the living room.
The thieves, upon seeing it, must have thought: "If that's the kind of taste they have in decorating, I can't even imagine what they have in their cupboards!".
Yet despite its ugliness undeniably, this vase has managed to find a place in my heart. It reminds us that sometimes, in a world obsessed with perfection and beauty, it is good to celebrate absurdity and eccentricity.
After all, it is what makes life interesting, right ?. So the next time you feel overwhelmed by standards of beauty and perfection, remember the "Ugliest Vase in the World."
It reminds us that ugliness can also be a form of art. And who knows, maybe one day he will become a design icon, admired for his boldness and uniqueness.
Until then, we will continue to appreciate him for what he is: the ugliest vase in the world, and proud of it!
